Community Guidelines
These rules apply to the optional public leaderboard in Pharaoh Sudoku. Playing Sudoku never requires an account, and public sharing is off until you turn it on.
What is shared
When you switch on “Share my scores publicly”, each finished game publishes only your chosen nickname, an anonymous player ID generated on your device, and the game result: difficulty, time, Pharaoh Score, mistakes, hints and the date.
Nothing else is sent. No email address, no account, no contacts, no location, no advertising or tracking identifiers, and no device information. There are no messages, comments, photos or profiles anywhere in the app — a nickname is the only text a player can publish.
Nicknames that are not allowed
- Profanity, sexual content, or anything obscene.
- Slurs, hate speech, or content targeting a person or group.
- Harassment, threats, violence, or references to self-harm.
- Impersonating Pharaoh Sudoku staff, support, moderators or another player.
- Links, web addresses, emails, phone numbers or messaging handles.
- Spam, advertising, or repeated-character nonsense.
- Real names or anyone else’s personal information.
Nicknames are 2–16 characters, letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and underscores only. Both the app and the server run the same filter, so a blocked nickname cannot be published by editing the app or calling the service directly.
Reporting and blocking
Every leaderboard row has a Report button (choose a reason: offensive nickname, harassment or abuse, impersonation, cheating or spam, or something else) and a Block player button.
Blocking hides every entry from that anonymous player on your device immediately and permanently, until you unblock them under Settings → Community. Reports go to our moderation queue, and an entry is hidden automatically once several different players report it — before a moderator has even looked at it.
Moderation and consequences
Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. A moderator can dismiss a report, hide an entry, restore it, or ban the anonymous player ID behind it. Banning removes every entry that player has published and prevents them from publishing again. Every moderation decision is recorded in an audit log.
Repeated or severe violations result in a permanent ban from the leaderboard. Ordinary Sudoku gameplay is never affected — the game keeps working offline, without an account.
